Our Activities
There are many activities the New Albany Walking Club promotes to help its members achieve their goals.
Group Walks
Currently, the New Albany Walking Club organizes group walks every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. The distances and routes vary but walkers do have the company of others regardless of speed or distance. The walks pass through scenic routes on the roads and paths throughout the New Albany community. The scenery and environment are breathtaking.
Training
Under the tutelage of Phil Heit, the New Albany Walking Club will serve as a training program for those seeking to participate in races including the New Albany Walking Classic as well as in the Columbus Marathon. Phil has been competing in marathons for over thirty years and has trained numerous individuals to participate in marathons. His experience in walking as well as running has provided him with a broad perspective on training. Of course, individuals can just join us for walks without the need to train for races.
Newsletters
The New Albany Walking Club sends email newsletters that focus on topics such as training tips, health issues, or just social gossip about our members.
Seminars
The different seminars will be held throughout the year to address pertinent topics abut walking including equipment, nutrition, training, and a host of other items.
